Business Innovation & Investment Provisional visa (subclass 188)

This visa allows you to:

  • own and manage a business in Australia, conduct business and investment activity in Australia or undertake an entrepreneurial activity in Australia.

  • Bring eligible members of your family with you.

  • You can leave and re-enter Australia as many times as you need while the visa is valid.

  • This visa is provisional and allows you to stay in Australia for a period of 4 years and 3 months, during which time you will be able to apply for the PR version of the same visa (subclass 888). Certain conditions apply.

 

Requirements.

  • You must be nominated by an Australian State or Territory government agency, before being invited to apply for this visa.

  • Being a business owner for at least 2 of the previous 4 financial years, with a successful business career, having maintained direct management in the business, meeting specified requirements for annual turnover (minimum AU$500,000)

  • Own personal and business assets of at least AUD800,000 lawfully acquired

  • Score at least 65 on the points test*

  • Be under 55

  • Have functional English

  • Meet character and health requirements.
